The cool folks at Submit To Love got in touch telling us about there exciting new pop up exhibition – Common Threads. Submit To Love Studios is a collective of self-taught artists – all of whom have survived brain injuries.
Showing at Autograph in Hackney, Common Threads uses Autograph’s unique photography archive as inspiration for a series of collaborative textile works. 23 of Submit To Love Studios artists have created work inspired by the photographs, highlighting the contribution of diverse cultures to Britain over two centuries through elaborate embroideries, appliqué and fabric prints.
Through the resulting portraits, Common Threads celebrates ideas of shared identities, community and the power of visibility.
