One of the things we dig about design, are the everyday street graphics that 99% of the time go amiss. These are your high street kebab shop signs, your local off license L.E.D and sometimes the odd hand-painted corner shop sign.
To house this slight obsession we have with street signage, we’ve created a new series of posts titled Street Signs.
In this series we will share some of the observations and highlights we’ve spotted wondering about the streets of the UK. First up is the home to the longest market in Europe (apparently), Walthamstow High Street.
This mile long gem of a street has everything from nail salons, greasy spoons, fish mongers and your faithful convenience stores. Walthamstow’s diverse community makes for an array of local business all hustling for your pennies, in turn creating a hot pot for interesting street signs. We’ve gathered together a few of our faves above. Be sure to scroll through, and keep an eye out for the next post in the series!
