Here at Beach London we are a sucker for bootleg graphics, and these fake movie posters for Quentin Tarantino’s latest movie – ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ – really make us drool!
These so called fake movie posters, are actually in movie props advertising the motion pictures of fictional character Rick Dalton, a washed up Hollywood actor played by Leonardo Dicaprio. Aside from being awesome throwback works of art, these movie poster props are a rare sight within todays over populated extreme photoshopped poster world. The task to bring these posters to life landed with some of the most influential and iconic poster artists that have been. In demand artists Steven Chorney, ex-retired legend Renato Casaro and comic book artist Martin Duhovic were all enlisted by Tarantino to paint the posters.
Chorney was responsible for Operazione Dyn-o-mite and Nebraska Jim, Casaro better known for known posters for Octopussy, Never Say Never Again and Rambo: First Blood Part II painted Uccidimi subito Ringo, Disse il Gringo, and finally Duhovic created the rad poster for Tanner.
‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is out in the UK on the 15th August, and be sure to keep an eye on these oldschool poster tributes.
